Abstract :
This study aims to see and to what extent the role of the head of the lurah in community in the village of Tangkerang, Tenggah sub-district, Marpoyan Peace, Pekanbaru, is in accordance with the problem. The type of research is descriptive survey using qualitative methods. This research was conducted in the village of Tangkerang Tengah, the sub-district of the peaceful Marpoyan, Pekanbaru. The reason the researchers took the location of this study was based on the phenomenon that the role of the head of the lurah in organizing social institutions in Tangkerang sub-district fell to the peace maritime city of Pekanbaru in good category. It was seen from 54 people or 60%. peaceful marpoyan sub-district is already quite good because it is in the percentage of 40-70% as for the obstacles found in the head role of lurah Tangkerang, the sub-district of peaceful Marpoyan: the lack of funds from the regional budget and not yet proven by the dominant RT / RW community when invited to hold a lurah consultation or event, another sub-district.
