Abstract :
This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the mathematics learning outcomes of class VII students. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a research design Pretest- Posttest Control Group Design. Sampling in this study uses purposive sampling technique. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of junior high school year 2019/2020 as many as 306 students spread into 10 classes. The sample in this study were 63 students, for the experimental class there were 31 students and for the control class there were 32 students. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The research instruments used in this study were Syllabus, Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), and Student Worksheets (LKS). The instrument of data collection in this study was carried out by test and nontest techniques. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the regression test, it was found that there was an effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the mathematics learning outcomes of class VII students.
