Abstract :
This research was conducted using a correlational research design. correlational is a statistical tool, which can be used for this research carried out using a correlational research design. the population in this study were male students in SMP Negeri 1 Apit river, which numbered 18 male students. However, the sampling technique was using saturated sample techniques. saturated sample is when all populations are sampled (Sugiyono, 2010: 96). From this understanding, the sample in this study is 18 male students based on the results of the research that has been carried out so a conclusion can be drawn as follows: there is a running speed contribution to the long jump ability of the Apit 1 Middle School students of 0.471 or 22.2% . this can be seen from the material values ??obtained from r count = 0.471 at a significant level of 5% obtained from rtable = 0.468. thus r count> r table or 0.471> 0.468 and enter the "moderate" category.
