Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to improve the basic technique of long jump trough the application of plying methods to students of class XI IPS 3 of SMAN 1 Rengat. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK). The sample in this study amounted to 32 students. The results of this study indicate that by appliying the play method can improve the basic teachnique of long jump in class XI students IPS 3 SMAN 1 Rengat. On the result of the first cycle of research the XI IPS 3 SMAN 1 Rengat class students reached a percentage of 71,48% including good categori. Followed by a cycle of 2 of the XI IPS 3 SMAN 1 rengat class students who reachwd a percentage of 81.83% including the good category.
