Abstract :
This study aims to describe the implementation of extracurricular activities in zapin siak dance at 1 Siak Public High School. Extracurricular activities are used as a forum for students who have talent and interest in one of them in the field of dance. The many achievements achieved by the extracurricular dance are the research background to find out the implementationand strategies carried out in the learning process. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method using qualitative data. The subjects in this study were 8 people consisting of 6 students with 1 coach and 1 coach. The location of the study was conducted at 1 Siak Public High School located on Jl. Hangtuah No.1, Kampung Rempak, Siak District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. Data collection techniques used in this study are structured interviews, non-participant observation and documentation. The results of the research that the authors did was that the material taught was Zapin Siak Dance. The methods used in extracurricular learning are lecture, demonstration and practice methods, students are very active and very enthusiastic in joining the extracurricular dance. The facilities and infrastructure are very adequate and support the implementation of extracurricular activities. The author can conclude that the implementation of dance extracurricular activities at 1 Siak Public High School is going well for the assistance of various parties, both motivation from parents, principals who have provided facilities and infrastructure, coaches and trainers who compile extracurricular programs and prepare learning materials and methods. and members of dance who almost all have high talent and desire to learn.
