Abstract :
This study aims to describe the development of Puti Ome dance in Lipatkain Village, Kampar Kiri district, Kampar District, Riau Province, the formulation of the problem is "how is the development of the Puti Ome dance in the village of Lipatkain, Kampar kiri District, Kampar District, Riau Province. The theory of development used in this research is that Suwandono (1984: 39) has two definitions: 1) Development in the sense of management based on traditional elements which is given a new breath according to the level of mass development, without reducing or eliminating traditional values. 2) in every development, it is not necessary that everything has changed, in the sense of a tradition there are several elements that do not change. This research methodology is a qualitative method with a descriptive type of analysis. The data collection techniques used in this study were non-participant observation, interviews and documentation. Puti Ome dance in Liapatkain Village, Kampar Kiri Subdistrict, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, originates from a folk tale brought up in a dance work. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The development of Puti Ome Dance in Lipatkain Village, Kampar Kiri District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, namely: a) Dance movement. The puti ome dance movement uses more lenggang steps because this movement uses a lot of dancing. b) Floor design. Puti ome dance floor design is a floor design that moves from one place to another, and uses straight, diagonal, curved lines. 2) Puti Ome dance that has not changed, namely: Music, Dynamics, Themes, Properties, Costumes, Lighting, Staging.
