Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to improve the skills of the upper pass through the method of teaching variation in the volleyball game class VII 1 at SMP 3 Pekanbaru. The sample taken was 37 students. This type of research is PTK. Based on the results of data processing in the implementation of the first cycle there were 25 students who achieved the KKM score (67%), and 12 students who had not yet reached the KKM score (32%). So this research was continued with the implementation of the second cycle and the results increased with the number of 31 students who reached the KKM score (83%) and 6 students who had not yet reached the KKM score (16%). Thus it can be concluded that there is an increase in volleyball's passing skills through the variation teaching method in volleyball game class VII 1 at Pekanbaru 3 Junior High School.
