Abstract :
The development of dance offerings to the Tepak Sirih dance in Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province SARAH HILMA TASYA FATEH NPM: 176710084 Supervisor Evadila, S.sn, M.sn NIDN. 1024067801 ABSTRACT The origin of the development of the offering dance to the tepak sirih dance in the Upper Rokan District was because initially there were concerns about forming a regional identity itself because it is impossible for the coastal and mainland Malay traditions to be the same. But in essence, the offering dance and the tepak sirih dance are the same as the welcome dance. However, upstream Rokan tries to give a new color as a regional identity. This research is entitled "The Development of Tepak Sirih Dance in Rokan Hulu Regency". This study aims to determine how the development of dance offerings to the tepak sirih dance in the Upper Rokan District, starting from the story, actors, movements, music, costumes, make-up, and dance functions. The theory used in this research uses the theory of the development of the dance offerings to the tepak sirih dance. The theory used in this study uses the theory of development according to Suwandono (1984: 39) and the theory of change according to Soekanto (2012: 283). This research uses descriptive interactive and qualitative methods, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation techniques. This research was conducted in the Tourism Office of Rokan Hulu, Riau Province. Subjects in this study amounted to 7 people. Rokan Hulu Regency made changes to its name Tepak sirih dance. Changed its name because the Offering Dance has become a global name. The word offering is flat again because it is like an offering, so it is renamed. Staying on the essence of the upstream Rokan, the movement is Silek Tigo Bulan and this dance is still the same goal, namely respecting guests. Identity is such a characteristic that Rokan Hulu created the Tepak Sirih Dance for its own locality of motion, music, and others.
