Abstract :
Rarak Godang music Tatenduik song is one of the music used to accompany traditional traditional events in Kuantan Singingi Regency, Kuantan Hilir Seberang District, one of which is the Pacu Path event. Tatendiuk at the track event in Kuantan Hilir Seberang District, Kuantan Singingi district, Riau Province? on the music of Rarak Godang, the song Tatendiuk at a track event in Kuantan Hilir Seberang District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The theory used in the Rarak Godang Music Elements is the theory of Hugh M. Miller (2017), and to find out how the function of the Rarak Godang music in the Tatendiuk song at the track event in Kuantan Hilir Seberang District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The theory used in the function of Music Rarak Godang Alan P. Merriam (1964), the method used in this study is a descriptive method of exposure. The approach used is a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are: observation techniques, interview techniques and documentation techniques. The elements in Rarak Godang music are rhythm, melody, tone, tempo, and dynamics. In the results of observations found that rhythm is found in all Rarak Godang musical instruments, calempong has 5 tones, the melody is only in calempong, the tempo used is fast (allegro), the functions contained in the music of Rarak Godang Song Tatenduik are: (1) Emotional Expression Function (Feelings), (2) Functions About Aesthetic Enjoyment, (3) Entertainment Functions, (4) Communication Functions, (5) Physical Response Functions, (6) Functions as Cultural Continuity.
