Abstract :
The title of Public Appreciation for Zapin Meskom Traditional Dance in Sejangat Village, Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. Formulation of Research Problems, namely 1. How is the community's appreciation of the zapin meskom dance in Sejangat Village, Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency ?. With the aim 1. To determine the community's appreciation of the traditional art of the Zapin Meskom dance in Sejangat Village, Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency. Appreciation is a person's conscious effort to understand, appreciate and value a work, the object of appreciation is the traditional zapin meskom dance in Sejangat Village.The appreciation of the zapin meskom traditional dance can be seen by observing, appreciating, assessing, and appreciating what is contained in motion, music, floor design, dynamics, make-up, costumes. This research was conducted in December 2020.This type of research is descriptive qualitative, this research was conducted with the aim of knowing how the public's appreciation of the traditional zapin meskom dance. The subjects of this study were 7 people consisting of 1 Old Chairman of the Riau Malay Traditional Institute, 1 New Chairman of the Riau Malay Traditional Institute, 1 Religious Leader, 1 Musician, 1 Dance Coach, and 2 Zapin Meskom Dancers. Types and sources of data, namely primary data and secondary data. This data collection is obtained from interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study are the Community Appreciation for the traditional zapin meskom dance in Sejangat Village, Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province.
