Abstract :
The problem in this result is that many students still cannot understand the correct long jump technique. The research aims to find out how understanding students are about the correct long jump technique. The form of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a population of class VII1 students totaling 30 people. The sample in this study was obtained based on purpose sampling technique so that the sample of this study amounted to 30 people. The results of the application of the demonstration method in the first cycle were obtained by the average learning outcomes of basic techniques of long jump 78% with the number of students completing 63%. The application of the demonstration method in the second cycle obtained an average long jump learning outcome of 82% with the number of students completing 87% in the good category. Conclusions from the research conducted, it can be concluded that the increase in long jump learning through demonstration methods that can improve long jump movement skills in class VII1 students of SMPN 42 Pekanbaru at the level of Good.
