Abstract :
This research was conducted at MAN 1 Bengkalis and SMAN 2 Bengkalis, as recipient of the national Adiwiyata school award. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The population in this study was 1,246 students, with a total sample of 93 students drawn from grade X, XI, and XII. Sampling using stratified random sampling techniques and determination of the number of samples using the Slovin formula with a magrin error of 0.1. The method used in this study is a survey method. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires, observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. Test the validity of the instrument using the product moment person correlation formula through SPSS 21. Test the reliability of the instrument using the Cronbach ?alpha formula. The results showed that the indicator 1 (Always preserving the environment) obtained a percentage of 88.04%, indicator 2 (Loving neatness and environmental cleanliness) obtained a percentage of 93.18%, indicator 3 (Wise in using natural resources) obtained the percentage results 89.49%, indicator 4 (Supporting greening) obtained a percentage of 91.24%, and indicator 5 (Participatory-based environmental activities) obtained a percentage of 90.60%. The average percentage of the five indicators of environmental awareness attitudes is 90.51% with the category very concerned to environment. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the level of student care for the environment in MAN 1 Bengkalis and SMAN 2 Bengkalis are included in the category of very concerned in maintaining the cleanliness of the school environment.
