Abstract :
This study aims to improve students' ability to think through problem-based learning models (Problem Based Learning). This research is a study of classroom action or CAR. The subjects in this study were students from SMK SAINTIKA Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques in this study is to conduct observations, interviews, and learning outcomes. This research was conducted in two cycles using descriptive data analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that before being given action students questions are at the LOTS (Lowers Order Thinking Skill) level with a value of 0.70% while the MOTS (Middle Order Thinking Skill) with a value of 0.30%. In the cycle of one question students increased to LOTS (Lowers Order Thinking Skill) with a value of 0.20% while the MOTS (Middle Order Thinking Skill) with a value of 0.75% and HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) with a value of 0.05%. In the second cycle increasing to LOTS (Lowers Order Thinking Skill) with a value of 0.05% while the MOTS (Middle Order Thinking Skill) with a value of 0.65% and HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) with a value of 0.30% based on data analysis and discussion, it is known that the problem based learning model or PBL (Problem Based Learning) can improve students' critical thinking skills.
