Abstract :
Keyword : Reading Comprehension, Computer and Network Engineering Text As one of the skills in mastering English, reading is the first skill that should be mastered. Reading is one of the important skills in learning English. It is the highly skill to people get knowledge, thoughs and views, because people get knowledge by writter materials. This research was done to find out how good is the second grade students of Computer and Network Engineering on English Reading Comprehension at Vocational High School Labor Pekanbaru. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative research by involving 19 students from Computer and Network Engineering class.The students were asked to answer the multiple choice test that consist of 20 items. The instrument focused on english texts for Computer and Network Engineering text. Before giving the test, the researcher did a validity test to know the quality of the test given. From 20 multiple choice test, there were 4 items that rejected. After that, the researcher change the items and the research did a test again. From the second test, it could be found that all items were accepted or reliable. The findings of this research in comprehending reading text based on components of reading comprehension, it show that the students? got highest score in mind idea and detail information indicator and got the lowest score in difficult word indicator. Then, from total score of the test, it was 1170 with mean score 61,57. Based on this statement, the researcher concluded that the students in XI Computer and Network Engineering class at Vocational High School Labor Pekanbaru stayed at good level in comprehending reading text.
