Abstract :
The research area is included in the administrative area of Tanjung Pauh, Pangkalan Koto Baru District, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province. Located along the Riau-West Sumatra causeway kilometer 16-20 and astronomically is at 00º11'20 "LU - 00º14'06" LU and 100º46'08 "BT - 100º47 '20" BT. The purpose of this study is to identify based on aspects of geomorphology, lithology, soil physical properties and slope safety factors for landslides in the research area. The research uses geomorphological analysis, lithology analysis, landslide type analysis, direct shear test and slope safety factor analysis. The results of the analysis are geomorphological units of the study area are denudational hilly terrain geomorphological units (D2) and denudational hilly terrain geomorphological units (D1). River drainage patterns have sub-denritic classifications. The composition of lithology consists of siltstone and claystone. The geological structure that developed in the raesearcharea is a joints structure. The types of soil movements found in the research site were rotational landslide, earth flow and debris flow. The Direct Shear Test results obtained the value of cohesion and angle of inner sliding in the Station 1 (0.1407kg/cm², 4º), Station 3 (0.1607kg/cm², 31º), Station 5 (0.0602kg/cm², 22º), Station 10 (0.0803 kg/cm², 38º), Station 13 (0.2009 kg/cm², 18º). Shows that the physical properties of soils fall into the very low-low erodibility class, very soft consistency, density is very loose and medium dense. Recommended landslide mitigation recommendations for the study area are slope cutting and surface water control.
