Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of leg muscle explosive power to the shooting ability of the soccer extracurricular students of SMK Negeri 1 Bandar Sei Kijang Pelalawan. The population in this study were the football extracurricular students of SMK Negeri 1 Bandar Sei Kijang Pelalawan, totaling 16 students. The research sampling technique was total sampling, where the entire population of 16 people was used as the research sample. The instruments used in this study were the vertical jump test and the shooting / kicking to goal test. the calculated r value of 0.558. This value is in the range 0.400 - 0.700 in the moderate or moderate category. The conclusion in this study is that there is a significant contribution of the explosive power of the leg muscles to the shooting ability of the football extracurricular games of the students of SMK Negeri 1 Bandar Sei Kijang Pelalawan with a percentage of 31.9%. The calculated r value is 0.558 and the r table value at n = 16 or df = 14 is 0.497. thus 0.558> 0.497.
