Abstract :
This research aims to determine the effect of soaking time in the ethanol extract of cherry leaves (Muntingia calabura) for the treatment of Saprolegnia sp. Fungal infection and survival rate in catfish seeds (Clarias gariepinus) . The materials used in this study were 150 catfish seeds (10 heads / container) 4-6 cm in size, 95% ethanol solvent, cherry leaf extract, Saprolegnia sp mushroom from unfertilized catfish eggs, PF 500 pellets. The experimental method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 levels of treatment and 3 replications, namely: P1 (4 hours), P2 (6 hours), P3 (8 hours), P4 (10 hours), P5 (12 hours) . The results showed that the best duration of healing time was in the P5 treatment with immersion time of 12 hours with a dose of 100 ppm / l of water. Furthermore, for the best survival in the P1 treatment, immersion time was 4 hours using a dose of 100 ppm / l of water of 93.33%. The results of measuring water quality parameters in this study, temperatures ranged from 26-31 oC, pH 7-8, dissolved oxygen 4.2-4.8 mg / l and ammonia (NH3) ranged from 0.18 to 0.36 mg / l.
