Abstract :
Self injury behavior is another act or self injury alone which was done in a deliberate way without any intent or purpose to committing suicide, however, to the perpetrators of this act is one of the correct methods or methods in venting emotions the negative. There are several factors underlying self injury behavior among them are family, psychological factors, biochemical factors, and personality factors. The purpose of this study is to know what these factors are it was a contributing factor of self injury behavior toward college students psychology, islamic university. The study uses qualitative research methods with a case study approach. The subject of this study is a student of psychology, the riau islamic university, which has a history of behaving self injury of 3 people using advanced sampling techniques. The data-collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and psychological tests. The study suggests that there are a number of factors underlying self injury behavior asa parent primarily as the mom of the individual informant, the painful past experiences resulting from trauma, uncomfortable feelings caused by the intense negative feelings contained in each informant, it was easy to get frustrated, and with some of the emotions dominating each informant, and modeling of self injury behavior came from a trend when the informant was still in high school.
