Abstract :
One of the goals that humans want to achieve in their lives is happiness. There are many factors affect a person's level of happiness, one of which is life satisfaction. In the midst of the complexity task as an ordinary human being, someone who devotes himself to be a volunteer is a special choice. The activities of helping carried out by a volunteer may engender feelings of happiness. The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between life satisfactions towards the level of happiness on social volunteer in Pekanbaru.The research subjects are 98 volunteers in the social, education and environmental fields, whichare united into the socialsector and located in Pekanbaru. The sampling technique uses purposive random sampling. The data collection method implies the Happiness scale adopted by Fatma (2015), which has 23 items and the Life Satisfaction scale (SWLS)adopted fromUlfa and Mulyana (2014)with 5 items. The data is analyzed by usingcorrelation Pearson Product Moment where the result shows the correlation coefficient r value 0.516 with p of 0.000 (p0.01). It can be concluded that there is a positive correlation between Life Satisfaction and the Level of Happinesson social volunteersinPekanbaru. The correlation value is positive, which means that the higher the life satisfaction, the higher the level of happiness, and vice versa, the lower the life satisfaction, the lower the level of happiness.
