Abstract :
This study discusses the campaign of presidential and vice presidential candidates,
which was covered by Prime Time News from September to December 2018. From
Prime Time News reporting, pick up news about presidential and vice presidential
candidates number 1.
The purpose of this study was to study Prime Time News's participation in reporting
the activities of the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs with sequence
number 1 to obtain information about the sustainability of the media carried by
Metro TV on the Prime Time News program.
The method used in this study is qualitative by using Zhongdang Pan and Kosicki
framing analysis. While the research paradigm is used is constructivism.
The results showed that in the period of the presidential and vice presidential
candidate number 1 campaign, Prime Time News always covered with positive news
to the pair number 1 who were very much in favor of the interests of Metro TV media
owners.
