Abstract :
Kurikulum merdeka yang dicetuskan oleh Mendikbudristek Nadiem Makarim
sebagai respon terhadap kebutuhan sistem pendidikan sebagai upaya memulihkan
pembelajaran akibat pandemi covid-19, mulai diimplementasikan tahun ajaran
2022/2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi kurikulum
merdeka pada mata pelajaran matematika kelas VII di SMP Negeri 2 Balusu,
Kecamatan Balusu, Kabupaten Toraja Utara, ditinjau dari perencanaan
pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, asesmen atau penilaian pembelajaran,
serta peran kepala sekolah dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka. Penelitian ini
menggunakan Mix Method Research (MMR) dengan tipe explanatory dimana data
kuantitatif dikumpulkan lebih dulu kemudian data kualitatif selanjutnya. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi kurikulum merdeka pada mata
pelajaran matematika kelas VII di SMP Negeri 2 Balusu pada aspek perencanaan
pembelajaran memiliki persentase sebesar 93%, pada aspek pelaksanaan
pembelajaran memiliki persentase sebesar 92,6%, pada aspek asesmen atau
penilaian pembelajaran memiliki persentase sebesar 99,5%, dan pada aspek peran
kepala sekolah memiliki persentase sebesar 98%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data,
implementasi kurikulum merdeka pada mata pelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri
2 Balusu pada aspek perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran,
asesmen atau penilaian pembelajaran, dan peran kepala sekolah, berada pada
katergori sangat baik. Peran kepala sekolah dalam pengembangan kurikulum
dilakukan dengan melaksanakan workshop di awal tahun pelajaran dan di awal
semester genap yang dibutuhkan guru untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dalam
implementasi kurikulum merdeka, melakukan supervisi secara berkala sesuai
dengan jadwal, melakukan refleksi secara rutin, dan membangun relasi yang baik
dengan seluruh warga sekolah serta orang tua siswa. Peran kepala sekolah dalam
projek penguatan profil pelajar Pancasila (P5) dilakukan dengan melibatkan guru
dalam perencanaan dan pelaksanaan projek, melakukan coaching secara berkala,
melakukan pengawasan secara sistematis dalam pelaksanaan projek, serta
memprogramkan projek yang sesuai dengan potensi lingkungan sekolah serta
minat dan bakat peserta didik.

Nadiem Makarim as a response to the needs of the education system in the
framework of post-covid-19 pandemic recovery, began to be implemented in the
2022/2023 school year. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the
independent curriculum in class VII mathematics at Balusu 2 Middle School,
Balusu District, North Toraja Regency, in terms of lesson planning,
implementation of learning, assessment or assessment of learning, and the role of
the principal in implementing the independent curriculum. This research uses Mix
Method Research (MMR) with explanatory type where quantitative data is
collected first then qualitative data. The results showed that the implementation of
the independent curriculum in class VII mathematics at SMP Negeri 2 Balusu in
the aspect of learning planning had a percentage of 93%, in the aspect of
implementation of learning had a percentage of 92.6%, in the aspect of
assessment or assessment of learning had a percentage by 99.5%, and in the
aspect of the role of the principal has a percentage of 98%. Based on the results
of data analysis, the implementation of the independent curriculum in
mathematics at Balusu 2 Public Middle School in the aspects of lesson planning,
implementation of learning, assessment or assessment of learning, and the role of
the school principal, is in the very good category. The role of school principals in
curriculum development is carried out by holding workshops at the beginning of
the school year and at the beginning of the even semester required by teachers to
improve competency in implementing the independent curriculum, conducting
regular supervision according to schedule, conducting regular reflections, and
building good relationships with all school members and parents. The role of the
school principal in the project to strengthen the Pancasila student profile (P5) is
carried out by involving teachers in project planning and implementation,
conducting periodic coaching, conducting systematic supervision of project
implementation, and programming projects that are in accordance with the
