Abstract :
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komparasi yang terdapat pada novel Seven Years of Darkness yang ditulis oleh Jeong Yu-jeong pada 2011 dan film Seven Years of Night oleh Choo Chang-min pada 2018. Novel dan film ini menceritakan tentang kehidupan kelam yang dialami oleh tokoh utama bernama Choi Seo-won yang merupakan seorang anak terpidana mati, Choi Hyeon-su. Penderitaan tersebut harus dia alami karena ayahnya yang tak sengaja membunuh seorang anak bernama Oh Se-ryeong. Akibatnya, Oh Yeong-je, ayah dari Oh Se-ryeong, membalas dendam karena kematian anaknya dengan mengikuti Choi Seo-won selama tujuh tahun. Penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif serta memakai teori karakterisasi, teori ekranisasi, dan teori analisis komparatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini, penulis menemukan persamaan pada bagian tema, karakter, karakterisasi, dan plot, sedangkan perbedaannya terdapat pada karakter, karakterisasi, dan setting. Selain itu, penulis juga menemukan adanya perbedaan makna antara ?Darkness? dan ?Night? pada karakter, karakterisasi, dan plot yang dijelaskan dalam bentuk tabel. Kata kunci: Ekranisasi, Karakterisasi, Tema, Plot. / This study aims to analyze the comparisons contained in the novel Seven Years of Darkness written by Jeong Yu-jeong in 2011 and the film Seven Years of Night by Choo Chang-min in 2018. This novel and film tell about the dark life that experienced by the main character named Choi Seo-won who is a child on death row, Choi Hyeon-su. He had to experience this suffering because his father accidentally killed a child named Oh Se-ryeong. As a result, Oh Yeong-je, the father of Oh Se-ryeong, took revenge for her daughter?s death by following Choi Seo-won for seven years. The present writer uses descriptive qualitative methods and uses characterization theory, ecranisation theory, and comparative analysis theory. The results of this study, the present writer found similarities in the themes, characters, characterization, and plot, while the differences were in the characters, characterization, and settings. In addition, the present writer also found that there are differences in meaning between "Darkness" and "Night" in the characters, characterization, and plot which are explained in table.
