Abstract :
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis), merupakan penyebab utama penyakit tuberkulosis (TB). Menurut laporan dari WHO, pada tahun 2017 terdapat sekitar 10 juta kasus TB di seluruh dunia, dengan tingkat kejadian mencapai 133 kasus per 100.000 orang. Laporan WHO tahun 2018 kembali menyebutkan bahwa 1,5 juta orang meninggal akibat infeksi M. tuberculosis dan terdapat sekitar 10 juta kasus TB di seluruh dunia, dengan tingkat kejadian mencapai 220 kasus per 100.000 orang. Temuan dari RISKESDAS RI tahun 2018 juga mengindikasikan peningkatan kasus infeksi tuberkulosis di Indonesia selama tiga tahun terakhir, yaitu 360.565 kasus pada tahun 2016, 425.089 kasus pada tahun 2017, dan 511.873 kasus pada tahun 2018. Berdasarkan data yang telah diuraikan oleh para peneliti, terlihat bahwa penyakit TB masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan yang signifikan di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, pengetahuan yang baik mengenai penyakit TB sangat penting, terutama bagi mahasiswa kedokteran, agar mereka dapat berperan dalam pencegahan dan pengendaliannya. Penelitian ini memiliki karakteristik deskriptif, dan hasil analisis perbandingan antara tingkat pengetahuan mengenai penyakit TB di antara responden dari Angkatan 2020 dan 2021 menunjukkan bahwa nilai P 0,048 (nilai P > 0,05, Fisher), yang berarti secara statistik ada perbedaan yang bermakna. According to a report from the WHO, in 2017 there were approximately 10 million cases of TB worldwide, with an incidence rate of 133 cases per 100,000 people. The 2018 WHO report again stated that 1.5 million people died from M. tuberculosis infection and there were around 10 million TB cases worldwide, with an incidence rate of 220 cases per 100,000 people. Findings from RISKESDAS RI in 2018 also indicated an increase in cases of tuberculosis infection in Indonesia over the past three years, namely 360,565 cases in 2016, 425,089 cases in 2017, and 511,873 cases in 2018. Based on the data described by researchers, it appears that TB is still a significant health problem in Indonesia. Therefore, good knowledge about TB disease is very important, especially for medical students, so that they can play a role in its prevention and control. This study has descriptive characteristics, and the results of the comparative analysis between the level of knowledge about TB disease among respondents from the Class of 2020 and 2021 show that the P value 0.048 (P value> 0.05, Fisher), which means that there is a statistically significant difference.
