Abstract :
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) mengetahui apakah terdapat peningkatan
minat belajar kimia siswa melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran project based
learning, (2) mengetahui berapa besar peningkatan minat belajar kimia siswa
melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran project based learning pada materi hakikat ilmu kimia kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Siberut Tengah. Desain penelitian ini
menggunakan Pre-Experimen: One ? Group Pretest-Posttes. Polulasi penelitian
ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas x dengan jumlah 35 sampel.Instrumen penelitian
berupa lembar observasi dan intrumen kuesioner berjumlah 25peryataan dengan
menggunakan skala likert, jumlah pilihan jawaban adalah pilihan dari tidak
pernah sampai selalu. Pengujian memerlukan analisis menggunakan data sebelum
pengujian menunjukan bahwa data terdistribusi normal dan merata. Pengujian
hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji parametrik yaitu One Samples T-test
pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 dengan bantuan program SPSS For Windows Versi 22.
Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh thitung (122,978) > ttable (1,69092) dan sig. 0,000
< 0,05. Berdasarkan analisis data dan pengujian hipotesis, diketahui bahwa minat
belajar kimia siswa meningkat melalui penerapan metode project based learning.
Peningkatan minat belajar kimia siswa melalui penerapan metode project based learning menggunakan pengujian gain dengan skor 0,5 dalam kategori sedang.

Learning. / The purpose of this study is (1) to find out whether there is an increase in students'
interest in learning chemistry through the application of project based learning
learning methods, (2) to find out how much increase in students' interest in
learning chemistry through the application of project based learning learning methods to the material nature of chemistry in class X SMA Negeri 1 Central
Siberut. This research design uses Pre-Experiment: One ? Group Pretest-Posttes.
The population of this study was all students of class x with a total of 35 samples.
The research instrument in the form of observation sheets and questionnaire
instruments amounted to 25 statements using a Likert scale, the number of answer
choices was a choice from never to always. The test requires analysis using the
data before the test shows that the data is normally and evenly distributed.
Hypothesis testing was carried out using a parametric test, namely One Samples
T-test at a significance level of 0.05 with the help of the SPSS For Windows
Version 22 program. The results of this study obtained t_hitung (122,978) >
t_table (1,69092) and sig. 0.000 < 0.05. Based on data analysis and hypothesis
testing, it is known that students' interest in learning chemistry increases through
the application of project based learning methods. Increasing students' interest in
