Abstract :
Pertandingan sepakbola adalah salah satu cabang olahraga yang banyak sekali digemari masyarakat, terutama di kalangan mahasiswa. Di era media baru ini, media online menjadi alternatif yang lebih mudah bagi mahasiswa dalam mencari informasi, termasuk informasi pertandingan sepakbola luar negeri yang banyak ditemukan dalam media online khususnya youtube dan streaming. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh antara karakteristik media online terhadap pencarian informasi pertandingan sepakbola luar negeri dan sejauh mana pengaruh karakteristik media online terhadap pencarian informasi pertandingan sepakbola luar negeri. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teori Pencarian Informasi dan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian survey. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah, korelasi bernilai positif, kuat dan tinggi dengan angka sebesar 0,727 antara variabel pengaruh karakteristik media online dengan variabel pencarian informasi pertandingan sepakbola luar negeri. Artinya, karakteristik media online saat ini sudah sangat membantu mahasiswa dalam memenuhi kebutuhan mereka dalam pencarian informasi pertandingan sepakbola luar negeri. Kata Kunci: Karakteristik Media Online, Pencarian Informasi, Pertandingan Sepakbola Luar Negeri. / Football matches are always very popular in society, especially among students in campus. Nowadays, in this new era, online media has become the easiest way for students to gather informations, including informations about international football matches, especially from youtube or any other streaming media. The purpose of this research is to find out whether the influence of characteristics online media to gather informations about international football matches and also how strong the influence of characteristics online media in affecting the search for informations about international football matches. This research uses information seeking theory and uses quantitative research approach with survey method. The result from this research is that the correlation is positive and quite strong with the rate of 0.727 between the variable of the influence of the characteristics of online media with the variable of the search of information about international football matches. This means, the characteristics of online media nowadays is really helpful for students to fullfil the needs of Information about International Football Matches.
