Abstract :
Kemajuan peradaban umat manusia yang selalu berkembang dari masa ke masa mendorong perkembangan pada berbagai aspek kehidupan masyarakat seperti, sosial, moral, ekonomi, budaya, seni, dan lain-lain. Seni sendiri hadir dan berkembang di kehidupan masyarakat sebagai salah satu pilar penting yang menopang suatu peradaban manusia. Sifat dari seni yang tidak terbatas dan selalu berkembang/berevolusi menjadikan seni sangat fleksibel dan juga abstrak. Salah satu jenis seni yang berkembang dari peradaban mulamula hingga kini adalah seni pertunjukan. Seni pertunjukan mengalami evolusi seiring perkembangan aspek maupun peristiwa pada zamannya, sehingga menjadikannya unik dan menarik. Di zaman kini seni pertunjukan telah menjadi salah satu kebutuhan hiburan dalam masyarakat, sehingga membutuhkan wadah/tempat untuk di pentaskan. Salah satu tempat utama yang memntaskan kegiatan seni ini adalah performing art center (pusat seni pertunjukan), dimana tempat ini menjadi sebuah pusat untuk tampil bagi pelaku seni pertunjukan(seni teater, tari, musik,dsb). Karya tulis ini mengulas perancangan bangunan performing art center dengan segala fasilitas pendukung di dalamnya. Bangunan ini dirancang dengan pendekatan arsitektur kontemporer dengan tujuan menciptakan bangunan yang konsepnya sesuai dengan situasi zamannya, dimana konsep arsitektur kontemporer ini merupakan konsep arsitektur yang selalu berevolusi mengikuti bahkan melampaui zamannya. Dengan konsep pendekatan ini diharapkan bangunan performing art center ini dapat memiliki karakteristik unik, iconic, dan menarik. Kata kunci: Seni pertunjukan, Performing art center, Arsitektur kontemporer. / The progress of human civilization which always develops from time to time encourages development in various aspects of people's lives such as, social, moral, economic, cultural, artistic, and others. Art itself exists and develops in people's lives as one of the important pillars that sustains a human civilization. The nature of art that is not limited and is always evolving/evolving makes art very flexible and abstract. One type of art that developed from the early civilizations to the present is the performing arts. Performing arts have evolved along with the development of aspects and events of their time, thus making them unique and interesting. In this day and age, performing arts have become one of the entertainment needs in society, so it requires a place to be staged. One of the main places that stage this art activity is the performing art center, where this place becomes a center for performing arts performers (theater, dance, music, etc.). This paper reviews the design of the performing art center building with all the supporting facilities in it. This building is designed with a contemporary architectural approach with the aim of creating a building whose concept is in accordance with the situation of its era, where the concept of contemporary architecture is an architectural concept that always evolves to follow and even surpass its era. With this approach concept, it is hoped that this performing art center building can have unique, iconic, and attractive characteristics.
