Abstract :
The purpose of writing this undregraduate thesis is to analyze the theme in the novel Eat Pray Love. In addition, the writer expects that readers can get the point of the significance in this novel. The method employed analyze this novel is the structural approach. After the writer analyzes the theme in the novel Eat Pray Love, written by Elizabeth Gilbert with the plot and charatreristics, the writer concludes that there are several themes in the novel, they are divorce, self-identity, spirituality, and love. Above all, the main theme in this novel is about seeking a balance of life. Penulisan skripsi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tema yang terkandung dalam novel Eat Pray Love, selain itu penulis berharap agar pembaca lebih memahami makna yang tekandung dalam novel ini. Metode penelitian yang penulis gunakan untuk menganalisis novel ini adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan struktural. Setelah penulis menganalisis tema novel Eat Pray Love karya Elizabeth Gilbert melalui alur dan penokohan, maka penulis menyimpulkan terdapat beberapa tema yaitu perceraian, pencarian jati diri, spiritual, dan percintaan. Namun tema utama dalam novel ini adalah tentang mencari keseimbangan hidup.
