Abstract :
: Keren Hapukh Rivanni Siwalete Program Studi : Sastra Inggris Judul : Analisis Strategi Penerjemahan Kalimat Tanya dalam Subtitle (Sari Makna) ?Me Before You? Pembimbing : Prof. Dr. Setia Bangun, M.Ed. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan strategi penerjemahan yang digunakan oleh Kakek Salto, sebagai penerjemah, dalam menerjemahkan kalimat tanya pada sari makna film Me Before You. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori strategi penerjemahan oleh Gottlieb (1992). Setelah proses analisis yang dilakukan oleh penulis, ditemukan 5 jenis strategi penerjemahan Gottlieb yang digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan kalimat tanya dari 10 jenis strategi penerjemahan. 5 jenis strategi penerjemahan oleh Gottlieb yang digunakan oleh penerjemah adalah transfer, imitation, condensation, decimination dan deletion. Penelitian ini menggunakan 30 sampel kalimat tanya dari 226 kalimat tanya yang terdapat di sari makna film Me Before You. Strategi penerjemahan yang sering dipakai oleh penerjemah adalah strategi penerjemahan condensation, terdapat 10 strategi penerjemahan condensation yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini. Sedangkan, strategi penerjemahan imitation merupakan strategi penerjemahan yang tidak sering digunakan oleh penerjemah, karena terdapat hanya 2 strategi penerjemahan imitation yang digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam penelitian ini. Melalui analisis strategi penerjemahan dalam kalimat tanya pada sari makna film Me Before You ini, pembaca akan lebih mudah untuk mengerti mengapa penerjemah menggunakan strategi penerjemahan yang dipilih oleh penerjemah saat melakukan proses penerjemahan. Selain itu, analisis dalam penelitian ini juga membantu pembaca mengerti bahwa strategi penerjemahan digunakan dengan mempunyai suatu tujuan tertentu, seperti panjang maksimum sari makna dan durasi pada layar. Dari penelitian ini, penulis dapat menarik kesimpulan bahwa sari makna film Me Before You oleh Kakek Salto bagus karena terjemahan dapat diterima dan dapat dimengerti. This research aims to find out the translation strategy employed by Kakek Salto, as a translator, in translating question sentences in the subtitle of the film Me Before You. The researcher uses the theory of translation strategies advocated by Gottlieb (1992). Based on the analysis, there are five types of Gottlieb translation strategies employed by translator in translating question sentences from ten types of translation strategies. Five types of translation strategies by Gottlieb that are employed by the translator are transfer, imitation, condensation, decimination and deletion. This research uses 30 samples of question sentences from 226 question sentences found in the subtitle of the film Me Before You. The translation strategy that is often used by the translator is the condensation strategy; there are 10 condensation strategies found in this research. Meanwhile, the imitation strategy is not often used by the translator because there are only two imitation strategies used by translator in this research. Through an analysis of translation strategies of the question sentences in the subtitle of the film Me Before You, it is hope that the readers will find it easier to understand why the translator uses the translation strategies chosen by the translator while doing the translation process. In addition, the analysis in this research also helps the readers to understand that translation strategies are used by keeping in mind a specific purpose, such as the maximum length of a subtitle and its screen duration. From this research, the writer can draw the conclusion that the translation of the subtitles in the film Me Before You by Kakek Salto is proper because the translation is acceptable and understandable. Selain itu, analisis dalam penelitian ini juga membantu pembaca mengerti bahwa strategi penerjemahan digunakan dengan mempunyai suatu tujuan tertentu, seperti panjang maksimum sari makna dan durasi pada layar.
