Abstract :
Destiny is still present and becomes a conversation among many people. Destiny is also believed to be superstitious and a taboo thing to believe. Through Kafka on the Shore, Murakami presents a different matter. Murakami wrote and presented the destiny in the depiction of a 15-year-old boy where he received a curse from his father for killing his father and sleeping with his mother and sister. Kafka tries to run away from the given destiny but still doesn't change anything. He is actually a different person than before. Kafka realizes that destiny will still happen and all we can do is face or accept that by surrender. Kafka learns to grow up and forget all her hurts in the past. He again found true identity and freedom. He also became a strong 15-year-old child. Key words: Destiny, Japan, Identity, Freedom, Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore, Existentialism
