Abstract :
Education is effort to prepare students througt mentoring activities,
teaching and training shape character. The problem in this study is the low student
physics learning outcomes. Efforts are being made to overcome these problems
using a guided inquiry model. The inquiry learning model is a learning model that
is oriented towards active student learning. The purpose of this study is to determine
the effect of student learning outcomes significantly by applying guided inquiry
learning models to improve student learning outcomes. This research was
conducted at Pusaka 1 High School Jakarta. The sample in this study amounted to
70 students consisting of 35 experimental class students and 35 control class
students. This type of research is Quasi Experiment, and the sampling technique is
purposive sampling. The research design used was two pretest posttest group
design. The instrument used was a multiple choice test to measure learning
outcomes of 20 items. The results obtained by the average value after applying the
inquiry learning model was 73.85 in the control class and 83.14 in the experimental
class. Furthermore, the prerequisite data testing uses the normality test and
homogeneity test with the conclusion that the data is normal and homogeneous. On
the results of hypothesis testing, the significant value is less than 0.05 so it can be
seen that there is an influence on the application of inquiry learning model. Thus it
was concluded that there was a significant increase in the guided inquiry model to
improve learning outcomes compared to conventional models on material quantities
and measurements. Judging from the results of the gain test there was a significant
increase in the control class by 0.56 in the medium category and in the experimental
class by 0.71 in the high category.
