Abstract :
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh profesionalan
guru terhadap mutu pendidikan di SMP Santo Fransiskus II. Penelitian ini
dilaksanakan di SMP Santo Fransiskus II, Jakarta Timur, pada bulan Juni hingga
bulan Desember 2019. Meneliti guru yang memiliki latar belakang IPA namun
tugas mengajar sebagai guru seni budaya di sekolah, dan pengaruhnya terhadap
peningkatan mutu di sekolah tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah
metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah observasi,
wawancara, triangulasi dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil observasi, pada kegiatan
pembelajaran guru hanya menjelaskan contoh melalui buku pelajaran, sedangkan
praktik hanya dilakukan sekali. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini yaitu latar
belakang guru sangat berpengaruh terhadap profesionalisme guru tersebut.
Implikasi hasil belajar siswa yang kurang optimal dan siswa tidak bisa
mengembangkan talenta serta bakat yang mereka miliki. Guru yang mengajar seni
diharapkan memiliki latar belakang pendidikan seni juga.
Kata Kunci: Profesionalisme, Mutu, Guru, Seni Budaya. / Teacher professionalism is one important benchmark in seeing the quality of the
education process. The quality produced by the school depends very mush on the
quality of the education learned before. This study aims to determine how the
influence of teacher on the quality of education in St. Francis II Middle School.
This research wa conducted at the Santo Fransiskus II, East Jakarta, From June to
December 2019. Researched a theacher who was said to be unprofessional in
teaching art education at school, and its effect on improving quality at the school.
The research method used is a qualitative method with collection techniques are
observation, interviews, triangulation and documentation. From the results of
observations, the learning activities of teacher only expalain examples through
texbooks, whereas practice is only done once. The results obtained from this study
are that the teacher?s background isvery influential on the teacher?s
professionalism. There are implications of student learning outcomes that are less
than optimal and students cannot develop their talents. Teacher who teach art are
expected to have an art education background as well.
