Abstract :
Name : Regina Apudan Kartini Sidebang Program Studi : Sastra Inggris Judul : An Analysis About Implicature In The Thriller Movie Gone Girl Pembimbing : Dr. Masda Surti Simatupang, S.Pd., M.Hum. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Untuk mengidentifikasi ujaran-ujaran yang mengandung implikatur yang melecehkan maksim dalam film Gone Girl. (2) Untuk mengetahui makna implikatur yang dilanggar maksim dalam film Gone Girl. Data dari penelitian ini adalah percakapan dari tokoh-tokoh yang terdapat pada film Gone Girl. Semua data dikumpulkan dengan mencatat dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori Marvasti (2018). Pengumpulan data dilakukan mulai tanggal 1 Desember 2020 hingga 15 Januari 2021. Hasil pertama penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penulis menemukan duapuluh tujuh percakapan dalam film yang mengandung implikatur yang melanggar maksim. Duapuluh tujuh percakapan terdiri dari dua jenis maksim yang mungkin dilanggar. Hasil kedua, penulis menemukan bahwa lawan bicara sebenarnya memiliki makna tersirat, artinya ucapan tersebut memiliki lebih dari satu kemungkinan makna yang tidak secara langsung diucapkan. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The purposes of this research are: (1) To identify the utterances that contained implicature which flouted maxims in the Gone Girl movie. (2) To find out the meanings of the implicature which flouted maxims in the Gone Girl movie. The data of this research are the conversations of characters found on Gone Girl movie. All the data were collected by taking notes and were analyzed by using Marvasti (2018) theory. The data were collected from 1st Desember 2020 until 15th January 2021. The first result of this study shows that the writer found twenty seven conversations in the movie that contained implicature which flouted maxims. Twenty seven conversations consist of more than one maxims that flouted. The second result is the writer found that the interlocutor actually has implicit meaning, which means the utterance has more than one possible meaning that is not directly stated.
