Abstract :
This research aims to discover the effect of Charades and Pictionary on nouns attainment of 8th-grade students. The method used was quantitative. The design of this research was quasi-experimental. The total sample of this study was 34 students. The experiment group consisted of 17 participants, the control group consisted of 12 participants, and the last 5 participants included were in the pilot group. The instrument was the vocabulary tests. The test consisted of pre-test and post-test. The data obtained were analyzed using T-test. Based on the criteria of hypothesis test that if sig. 2 tailed (p) was lower than alpha (?) 0.05, then Ho (Null Hypothesis) was accepted and Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) was rejected. The result of this study was p was 0.02, so p < ?. Therefore, Charades and Pictionary improved 8th-grade students? nouns attainment. Moreover, the result of Cohen?s d effect formulation was 2.773, based on the indicator the result meant that Charades and Pictionary have significant effect on the student
