Abstract :
Tofu is a food ingredient that not only has a delicious taste but also rich in nutrients and healthy. The high interest in tofu consumption makes tofu producers work hard to meet the increasing demand every year. This can be a business opportunity for home-scale tofu factory entrepreneurs and large-scale tofu factory industries. The reason for making tofu cutting tools is because the prices of tools that are already on the market is around Rp. 5.000.000,- to Rp. 7.000.000 depending on the specifications of the tool and problems regarding the workings of workers who experience problems during the repeated cutting process. The purpose of making tofu cutting tools is to increase the effectiveness of tofu cutting by workers without reducing the quality of the tofu. The method used for the manufacture of tofu cutting tools is value engineering and the place where the research was carried out was at UKM Kayuagung (KA). The results of research show that the making of tofu cutting tools has 5 advantages with the value engineering cost 8.33. Keywords: Productivity, Tofu, Value Engineering, Product design.
