Abstract :
ABSTRACT
Rainfed lowland agricultural land only relies on water from rainfall
because it does not get water supply from irrigation. So that it can cause crop failure if the rice fields experience prolonged drought. This research is located in Tanjung Ali Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the amount of
rainwater is able to meet the needs of rainfed lowland water in Tanjung Ali village. For the planting season which is carried out in Tanjung Ali village twice a year.
Base on the results of the calculation of the cropping pattern twice a year,
it can still be fulfilled. However, from the results of the water balance, it is found that the water balance value for the availability of water for land preparation during the second planting season in October has a water deficit, namely 1.544 m3/sec for a rice field area of 415 Ha due to the availability of water from effective rainfall which is not sufficient for water needs.
