Abstract :
Keywords: analysis, reading interest. This thesis entitled ?An Analysis of Students? Interest in Reading of the Fourth Semester Students of English Education Study Program FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang.? The objective of the study was to know the interest of the students in reading. The method of the study was qualitative. The population of the study was all the students of English Education Study Program FKIP Unversitas Muhammadiyah Palembangin academic years 2018-2019. In selecting the sample of the study,the researcher used non random sampling technique and it wasconvenience sampling. So, the sample of the study was the Fourth Semester Students of English Education Study ProgramFKIPUniversitas Muhammadiyah Palembang consist of 47 students. Technique for collecting the data in the study, the researcher used ready made questionnaire, it was close ended questionnaire. The researcher analyzed the data by using formula percentage in research. The results of the study showed that the students had low interest in reading. It can be seen from the percentage was 51,06 % that the students chose the answered agree of questions ?I seldom read book?. It means that the Fourth Semester Students of English Education Study Program FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang was low in reading.
