Abstract :
ABSTRACT The characteristic of the city traffic movement is that it is busy and even tends to be jammed in the peak hour range both morning and evening. The situation is increasing from year to year in line with the increasing development of goods and services to meet the needs of the people of Palembang city and the surrounding area / city. Road spaification according to the existing condition of the Lebong Siarang intersection, the classification of Indonesian roads based on applicable laws and regulations, which includes local roads because they are public roads that function to serve environmental transport with the characteristics of close travel, planned speed> 40 km / h and road width> 5 meters, from observations in the field, it was found that the five-barreled intersection had a capacity that did not meet the requirements of traffic regulation anymore. In 2013 the intersection of five lebong siarang had a traffic light that served to regulate each arm. But because the intersection does not meet the classification as an intersection that can be set by a traffic light, the capastisas at the intersection gets higher and causes a long queue on each arm, then the traffic lights at the five-point intersection are disabled.
