Abstract :
This research was conducted to determine the ectoparasite species that infect cupang fish (Betta sp) in some Palembang Ornamental Fish Cultivators. This research was conducted from April to June 2019 which took place at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah Palembang. The research method used was the survey method through random sampling in several ornamental fish farmers in the city of Palembang directly to identify the ectoparasites found in the cupang fish. The results showed that of the 200 fish tested samples there were three types of ectoparasites with different classes, namely Trichodina sp included in the Protozoa class, the number of infecting ectoparasites was 26 species, Dactylogyrus sp included in the monogenea class the number of infecting ectoparasites was 10 species and Argulus sp included in the Crustacean class the number of infecting ectoparasites was 13 species. Where betta fish that have a larger body size are more susceptible to parasitic infections keyword: betta fish inventory
