Abstract :
The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between social media andadolescent mental health at MTS Negeri 3 Gorontalo Regency. This research is ananalytical survey research and uses a cross sectional research design. The samplingtechnique in this research was total sampling with a total sample of 129 respondents.Data analysis was carried out in the bivariate analysis stage using the chi square testwith a significance level of p-value < 0.05. Based on the chi square test, it was obtainedthat Pvalue = 0.000, which means that there is a relationship between the use of socialmedia and the mental health of teenagers in MTS Negeri 3 Gorontalo Regency, so it canbe concluded that the more technology develops, the more social media has a negativeimpact on its users. Through the use of social media, feelings of envy will arise, notbeing able to see other users' posts and being less satisfied with life
