Abstract :
The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia based on Riskesdas 2013 is 37.2%. Stunting is a disorder in the growth of a child's height or body length, where the height growth does not match with increasing age. The aim of research is to find out whether there is a relationship between the incidence of stunting and the use of contraception in Pohuwato Regency. This research uses a quantitative method with a case control design. The population were all mothers who used contraception and had stunted toddlers in the work area in Pohuwato Regency, totaling 365 people. The sample was 36 respondents. The sampling technique in this research is accidental sampling. Data collection uses the Midwife Cohort Book & nutrition cohort to find out stunted toddlers and uses a checklist sheet. Data analysis used chi-square. The results of the analysis on the incidence of stunting were in the Short category 91.7%, Very Short category 8.3%. Meanwhile, 58.3% of respondents used MKJP, 41.7% of non-MKJP respondents. The statistical test results have a p-value of 0.186, which indicates that there is no significant relationship between the incidence of stunting and the use of contraception. The conclusion, there is no significant relationship between the incidence of stunting and the use of contraception.
