Abstract :
The decrease in breast milk production on the first day after giving birth is caused by a lack of stimulation of the hormones oxytocin and prolactin which play an important role in the smooth production of breast milk. To express breast milk, non-pharmacological efforts are needed in the form of lactation massage. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of lactation massage on the smooth production of breast milk in post partum mothers at Toto Kabila Regional Hospital. This research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The research design used was Pretest-Posttest with control group design. The total sample was 32 people, then divided into two groups, intervention and control. Research results: Breast milk production before lactation massage in the intervention group, most of the breast milk production was not smooth, 14 people (87.5%) and 2 people (12.5%) had smooth breast milk production, then in the control group, most of the breast milk production was not smooth. as many as 14 people (87.5%) and 2 people (12.5%) had smooth breast milk production. After carrying out lactation massage in the intervention group, it was found that 16 people (100%) had smooth breast milk production, and in the control group that did not receive lactation massage, breast milk production was not smooth, namely 12 people (75%) and 4 people (25%) smoothly. The Wilcoxon test results show a P value of 0.000 ? 0.05. In conclusion, there is an influence of lactation massage on the smooth production of breast milk in post partum mothers at Toto Kabila Regional Hospital.
