Abstract :
The increase in the number of elderly has an impact on health problems because elderly people do less physical activity and in the social environment there are still elderly people who feel lonely, and the life quality of elderly people in various aspects is felt to be lacking. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between physical activity and the environment and the life quality of the elderly at the Jannati Home for the Elderly, Gorontalo Province. Quantitative research design with a cross sectional study approach, the sample used was 30 elderly people at the Jannati Home for the Elderly with a total sampling technique and using a linear regression statistical test. The results obtained from a simple linear regression analysis of physical activity with life quality namely an r-square value of 0.423 and a significant value of 0.000, means, there is a relationship between physical activity and life quality with a percentage of 42.3%, the environment with quality of life, namely an r-square value of 0.062 and a significant value of 0.017 means there is a relationship between the environment and life quality with a percentage of only 6.2% and the results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained an r-square value of 0.731 with a significant value of 0.000 means that simultaneously there is a relationship between physical activity and the environment and quality of life with a percentage of 73 .1%. In conclusion, there is a relationship between physical activity and life quality and simultaneously both physical activity and the environment are related to the quality of life of the elderly at the Jannati Home for the Elderly, Gorontalo Province. Thus, the orphanage can plan physical activity programs for the elderly and create a good environment by providing attractive environmental facilities in order to improve the quality of life.
