Abstract :
This study aims to find out how the social competence of teachers at SDN 1 Telaga Biru, Gorontalo Regency. This study uses a qualitative method. The location of this research is SDN 1 Telaga Biru, Gorontalo Regency. Data collection tools used in this research are observation, interviews, and documentation. To check the validity of the data in order to prove the suitability of the researcher's data with the reality in the field, the researcher used triangulation. The results showed that teachers at SDN 1 Telaga Biru already have good social competence, starting from communicating, using technology, interacting effectively with students, fellow educators, education staff, parents/guardians of students, and getting along politely with the community around. But there are still some teachers who lack communication or rarely get along with students, fellow educators, education staff, and the surrounding community. Then the efforts made by the school in developing teacher social competence include: approaches to students, following activities at school, visiting students' homes, and teacher communication through WhatsApp Groups. Furthermore, the benefit of a teacher who has social competence is that he will be emulated by his students.
