Abstract :
Political information is the process of forming and distributing power in society in content, objectives, and sources of information. The formulation of this research problem is how the impact of political information on the beginner voters? participation in the 2019 presidential election in Gondang village, Gangga, North Lombok? What are the efforts to increase the beginner voters? participation in the 2019 presidential election in Gondang Village, Gangga, North Lombok? This study aimed to determine the impact of political information and determine the efforts to increase the beginner voters? participation in the 2019 presidential election in Gondang village, Gangga, North Lombok. This research was a descriptive qualitative study. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicated that 99% of the respondents obtain political information from social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, and other social media. Social media that has an essential role in providing political news for the beginner voters? participation was Facebook. Most of the respondents got information from Facebook, and a little one got from WhatsApp, Instagram, or other social media. This information is a reference for the beginner voters in participating in the 2019 presidential election in Gondang village, Gangga, North Lombok district. This study concludes that social media can provide clear political information for beginner voters?.
