Abstract :
The choice of consumption no longer shows people's ability to distinguish between
basic and urgent needs and non-essential needs, while the level of income obtained
by the community tends to change. Therefore this study aims to describe the income
and lifestyle of the consumption patterns of Waelawi villagers, Malangke Barat
District, North Luwu Regency.
This research method is a descriptive quantitative research. The population
in this study were the people of Waelawi Village, West Malangke Subdistrict, North
Luwu Regency, using the slovin formula sample technique with a sample size of 77
people. While the data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with
the SPSS 2.0 method.
The results showed that income and lifestyle had a positive and significant
effect on the consumption patterns of the people of Waelawi Village, West
Malangke District, but lifestyle variables had the most dominant influence on the
consumption patterns of residents of Waelawi Village, West Malangke District,
North Luwu Regency.
