Academic anxiety is an impulse of thoughts and feelings from within individuals who are afraid and unsure of their ability to complete assignments and exams with satisfactory results. Cognitive behavior group counseling can help students in solving their problems.
This research uses quantitative research with true experiment design. The subjects in this study were 30 students from 1 SMK class in Mojokerto. The sample used was 22 students who were divided into an experimental group and a control group of 11 students each.
Collecting data in this study using online questionnaires distributed using google form. Data analysis using paired sample T test analysis. Based on the results of data analysis using the t-test, it was found that the experimental group was larger than the control group. The control group that was not given treatment got an average value (mean) of 106.27. Meanwhile, the experimental group who was given the behavior group counseling treatment obtained an average value (mean) of 19.27. From the results of the t-test obtained a value of 0.001 <0.005. So that Ho is rejected, Ha is accepted, it can be concluded that there are differences in students' academic anxiety before and after treatment with a cognitive behavior approach through group counseling services for class X SMK students.
