Keywords: arm muscles and breaststroke swimming
The background of this researcher is to prove the effect of
arm muscle strength on breaststroke swimming practice for
children aged 9-10 years in the Pari Porong Temple swimming
pool, Sidoarjo This study uses a quantitative research approach with the type of pre-experimental research using two groups posttestpretest design. The research data were obtained from the treatment (treatment) carried out on swimmers, totaling 8 swimmers from the Shark Swimming Club, Candi Pari Porong,
Sidoarjo. The 8 child swimmers were given breaststroke
swimming by taking a 25 meter swimming pool during the
posttest-pretest. The final test score is obtained from the record
time (best time) of each swimmer
Based on the results of research and data processing that
has been carried out with the help of SPSS 21, it can be
concluded as follows: There is a significant influence on the
results of the pretest and posttest on the results of increasing the
speed of 25 meter breaststroke swimming in children aged 9-10
years at the Shark Swimming Club Candi Swimming Pool Pari
Porong Sidoarjo. These results are indicated by the following data
results: sig. (2-tailed) in the experimental group which is equal to
0.001, so the sig. (2-tailed) in the experimental group > 0.05, it
can be stated that arm muscle strength training has an effect on
the 25-meter breaststroke swimming speed
