Abstract :
The use of learning methods is less varied, as well as the low understanding of students about
writing descriptive essays so that learning is less than optimal. The purpose of this study was to analyze
the application of the field trip method to the writing skills of description essays in elementary school
students. The data source used in this study is a research journal or scientific article related to the
application of the field trip method to the skill of writing a description essay. The type of research method
used in this study is literature review, research is carried out by collecting data using research journals
or scientific articles related to the research variables needed. The analysis that has been carried out
from several research journals explains that the application of the field trip method to the skills of writing
description essays in elementary school students.
Based on the results of research from eight article journals, the application of the field trip
method is very effective because learning to write essay descriptions becomes fun so that it can increase
student activity in following the learning of writing skills, making it easier for students to express ideas
in writing form, students can get direct experience from the objects seen, students are more comfortable
and happy when learning takes place.
