Abstract :
Based on a study of the results of several journals, it was found that there were problems with students in elementary schools, namely the ability to read at the beginning which was still relatively low. Based on the results of the analysis of several journals. It was found that the students' Beginning Reading Ability was still below the predetermined KKM. This problem was caused by the implementation of distance learning (PJJ) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lack of infrastructure during PJJ for students who did not have communication tools. One of the ways that currently can be used to improve early reading skills is the use of effective learning methods. One of the learning methods that are considered effective is the Structural Analytical Synthetic Method (SAS), this method can be used as a basis for analytical thinking with steps arranged in such a way as to make it easy for children to follow procedures and will be able to quickly read on the next opportunity based on the linguistic basis of this method. help children master reading fluently. The application of the SAS method has been shown to have a considerable influence on the Beginning Reading Ability of students. This can be proven from several journals that have been analyzed by researchers which state that the SAS method is a method that can improve early reading skills in elementary school students. Prediction of student outcomes can improve students' initial reading skills at school using the Structural Analytical Synthetic (SAS) method, recommendations should be to use the SAS method that is made more creativly so that students are more motivated in improving reading skills and adding teaching media, namely game media Cards and picture media will also further support the implementation of learning to help improve students' initial reading activities during learning.
