Abstract :
This research is motivated by the low reading ability of early Indonesian students in the lower grades of
elementary school. This is because teachers still use conventional learning methods where learning is
only teacher-centered while students are not much involved or not active in learning. In this condition,
the syllabic method (sylaba) becomes one of the alternative methods of solution, because the tribal
method involves interaction between students and teachers, so there is no longer learning that only
dominates the teacher or dominates smart students. This study also aims to review how the syllabic
method (syllabus) affects early reading skills in lower grade elementary school students. The method
used to review the systematic or Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing the results of research
that has been published nationally relating to the syllable method (sylaba) on the early reading ability of
elementary school students for Indonesian lessons, sample analysis are 8 journals that have been
published in the last 10 years. The journal discusses the syllabic method, based on the findings of the
analysis of the syllabic method (sylaba) which has a positive influence.
